The timing belt

The timing belt  ( or cam belt ) , is one of the most important part in running engine , it controls the timing of the engine's valves and keeps the entire operation running smoothly.

  There is a recommended distance and or time period after witch the timing belt should be replaced .
  Improper replacement 

 of this engine element can result in complete breakdown of the engine , it's more favorable to check the owner's manual that will tell you how well to do so , typically , every 60000 to 90000 miles ( 96000 to 144000 km ) of distance covered by the car, the timing belt must be replaced .

must As shown in this picture , this kit includes the belt ,  tensioning pulley , idler pulley , and the guide pulley , in some cases ,we replace all of these items rather than the belt , because all of these are subject to wear , then failure to replace one of them could result in engine damage if it fail .   

The Battery

This element has the first importance on  the car , without it the engine could not start up , so the car doesn't move .



Checking the battery :

  you can check the battery visually , especially if a no-start of the engine comes up , here are some possibilities for the cause of this problem :

1. The battery terminals are not well tighten .
2. The battery terminals are corroded ( see photo 1).
3. There is a leak or crack ( see photo 2).

  For the first cause , that result in bad electric conductivity , so the terminals need in this case to be tighten , for the second case , the corrosion is an insulator ,  the terminals must be cleaned ( use a wire brush to clean them ) .
  In the third case , the battery is damaged and should be replaced by a good one .

Note :
   
  The battery creates gases that are potentially explosive , the white flaky corrosion is very acidic , so use extreme caution whenever working with a car battery.
